Start off with 5 simple ways to implement green practices into your everyday operations whether you are at home or in the office:

  1. Perform regular maintenance on heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. When these systems are running at peak performance, they use less energy
  2. Implement recycling measures. Shredding all communications, not only helps the environment but privacy laws as well! From there you can step up to separating glass and aluminum cans
  3. Encourage communications by e-mail, and read your messages onscreen to determine whether it is necessary to print them.
  4. Ask your statement provider about recycled paper for statements/invoices
  5. Consider implementing paperless office solutions—network scanning and faxing via email.

You can be efficient without being effective-doing things that don’t matter; like rear-ranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. You can be effective without being efficient; like doing something worthwhile, but taking too much time or having it cost too much. What we all should strive for is effi-cacy.
